What is IAmGenZ.org?

If you were born after 1995 you are Gen Z, and this is a place for you to share your experiences of what it is like to grow up in a hyper-connected world.

You are the first generation to have experienced what it is like to grow up in a world where your every move is tracked, where your social interactions are largely channeled through screens, where you have instant access to a mountain of information that may or may not be true.

How is it changing our culture, our social lives and our relationships? What role do you want “Tech” to play in determining your actions and your future?

This is a space to have this discussion, so that your voice can be heard in the debate about the role we want “Tech” to have in our lives.

The documentary

This project is linked to a documentary being made by Liz Smith which looks at how technology is shaping the lives and identities of young people.

As technology becomes more integral to our lives we need to make sure it is being designed to benefit humans first and foremost. The aim of the film is to paint a picture of the issues facing young people and in so doing help us be more mindful of how we use our tech and put grass-roots pressure on corporations and governments to protect our futures.

How to get involved?

We have created a series of discussion topics. If you were born after 1995 and you want your voice to be heard in this debate you can share your experiences and opinions in the comments section.

If you would like to take part in the documentary please get in contact.

Taking part would involve you, and possibly a small group of your friends, spending a couple of hours filming with us discussing what it is like to grow up today in a world of 24/7 mobile connectivity.
